In celebration of its 100th year anniversary, the Boeing Co. and 120 of its employees celebrated it with a day of service at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. On July 30th, Boeing employees gathered at the Conservancy’s Interpretive Center parking lot to commence the Boeing Global Day of Service with the Bolsa Chica Conservancy. Rudy Duran, the Executive Sponsor for the Boeing Co., and the honorable Barbara Delgleize, city of Huntington Beach Councilwoman, kicked off the event with a brief introduction and words of thank and commendation. Volunteers were then briefed with tasks for the day, which included invasive plant removal, trash/debris pickup, and cactus pad planting. In total, Boeing volunteers were able to collect 144 bags of invasive plants which equaled about 2,300 lbs and 33 bags of trash that totaled 132 lbs. The Bolsa Chica Conservancy thanks the Boeing Co. and its employees for their support, dedication, and participation in actively restoring the Bolsa Chica wetlands over the past 26 years.
