Looking to Make a Difference – Become an EONS Volunteer

Posted on: Mar 09, 2014 / Events-News / 0 COMMENTS

Come Join Us During the Nesting Season at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands!

The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is seeking volunteers for Eyes on Nest Sites (EONS), a public education and outreach program that incorporates wildlife observation and monitoring of the endangered California Least Tern and threatened Western Snowy Plover nest sites at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve!

These precious birds are threatened due to high losses of coastal strand dune habitat (90%), which act as essential nesting grounds. Volunteers are needed to participate in active data collection and observations to gather valuable data for monitoring these species, as well as actively educate the visiting public while on duty.
