Our Mission and Vision

The mission of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy is to provide services that inspire and connect all generations through community involvement and leadership in hands-on restoration and education in wetland science, watersheds, coastal ecology, and environmental sustainability.

Our Future

An exciting goal of the Conservancy is the new Center for Coastal Ecology. This state-of-the-art environmental education facility will be located on the Harriett Wieder Regional Park in Huntington Beach, California. Designed with sustainable features, using natural resources for irrigation, lighting and ventilation, the new center will be a regional hub for science-based learning on coastal ecology, wetland science, conservation planning and environmental sustainability.  The Center will provide programs and exhibits that promote critical thinking and a better understanding about our relationship as humans with the natural world.  By design, the new center will be an example of net-zero or regenerative facilities and will help expand the public’s knowledge of sustainable measures to protect the environment.

Science literacy is a vital foundation for conservation and sustainability.  The  Center for Coastal Ecology embodies our community’s aspirations for our families, our children and our environment.  Gifts from friends like you make it possible for us to provide programs that inspire our youth and our community.  We invite you to join us to make this dream a reality, to renew connections with, and increase appreciation and stewardship for a balanced environment.  Become part of our future by contributing to this dream to continue our quest to inspire and lead our youth and the community into the future!
